New Roo in the Merritt Coop. Meet Vino!

MEET VINO!

He looks like a Sussex and Barred Rock mixed - So pretty. Sweet as pie, too.

We've been running interference between him and the hens.

This is Joey and "Mama Gold" discussing how she should leave Vino alone for a bit.

She clearly was making her point.

By the end, Mama Gold and Joey worked it out.

Our chickens are SO Patient! <3 they love us <3

Had a chat with the ladies today...

Well, it's official, I'm in the bartering game!

We have been getting 4 eggs regularly and yesterday we got five. We bragged to the girls about how great they'd been doing. Made sure they were happy, cool and ready to rock out some more.

It seems they were happy to oblige! Six eggs today! Nicely done, girls!

I couldn't help but put all my eggs in one basket just this once. I brought my friend Heather a dozen eggs today and these are what I have left. A dozen and a half. I need two dozen for bartering purposes, so I may have it tomorrow!!! I could not be more excited!

Our happy ladies have been loving the lawn tractor, they b-line to it as soon as the door opens.

Getting their "Free Range" on.

If you look really hard, you can see Luke at the other end of the tractor. We must have some sweet grass here. Oh, and muscadine grapes rain from the sky, too! (they love those special treats)!

So, it's official, we are now in the barter business - if you are interested in bartering, check out the Bulloch Barter Buddies Facebook Page.

Update on the chickens

Our chickens are thoroughly enjoying their yard tractor (we are too, saves a bunch on food!)

Four eggs a day are awesome! We've had a few double yolkers, too!

It's so hot today. Jr. is laying in the 'breezeway'.

Some of our 'pretties'.

The barred rocks are now as big as the Red and Goldens: Hoping to start getting eggs soon!

Aztec, one of our pretties chickens. She's an Ameraucana (easter egger) - I can't wait for them to start laying. They are the smallest of all our chicks.

Such a pretty picture of diversity! From left to right, Golden, Barred Rock, Americauna, Rhode island Red.

Pretty Americauna's!

Strutting her stuff

Aztec again. :)

I love the Cleopatra look she's got.
